This app works great. The only problem is that it no longer shows boarding passes on Apple wallet which was the main reason I had this app. This feature is so important that the lack of it makes me drop the rating by two stars.

Cant check in with the app, it made me scan my passport several times and still wouldnt check me in, boarding passes do not appear on the app until AFTER the flight has landed, updates dont work, and in flight entertainment via the app doesnt work. I will be using another airline.
This app is buggy. Several times it has failed to display a boarding pass even after I have checked in. Other times the boarding pass will disappear. Competing apps from Delta and American are easier to use, have more robust features, and are provide more competent programming.
Quite possibly one of the worst apps Ive ever used. Literally spend 20 minutes looking for my freq flier number every single time to even sign in. You literally need to try to make an app this bad. #fail
Tried to check in to an international flight. It kept asking me to scan my passport, which I did. It then showed the correct information, which I submitted. Then it said it had to verify it. After 5 minutes (!), it was asking me to scan my passport again. So I continued without passport, meaning I have to go through full check-in at the airport to get a boarding pass. I paid through the app for my luggage. But I got no confirmation email. I wasn’t even sure I was checked in and had to call United. This app is almost useless. United’s people need to do some serious work to make this app at all useful.
Downloaded app to ck in to intl flight. Scanned passport (yikes, why did I do that?!). Was supposed to take up to 5 min to verify, after 5 min it didnt acknowledge my info, told me again I have to scan my passport to ck in. Now they (third party, whoever that may be) have my passport data and I have no boarding pass. Bad decision on my part to download this app. Can I return it? 74 pages of fine print will answer that question. If only I could take back that scanned image of my passport...
Do not try to scan your passport. It does not work. Should have known, most of Uniteds planes have maintenance issues so why should we expect their app to work.
Once I put my reservation number into the app, it sorted everything out for me, in the reservation, it gave me options to save it to my calendar, save it to the app, and I can even change seats whenever I want in the app! Another cool thing, is that 2 or 3 days before your trip begins, you will notice an UBER button to get a ride to the airport, THATS AWESOME! Also right after I checked in to my flight with the Kiosk, it gave me the Boarding passes on my iPhone right away when I checked in! They also have airport maps and directions to get to a certain place, Ex, ORD Gate B9 terminal 1. Compare this sweet app to the AA app, still a LOT OF ERRORS, but United, peace in mind convenience, You guys should add Apple Pay into the app for booking new flights, overall BEST AIRLINE APP EVER!!!!!!
The current update on iPhone 6 does not work properly with Uniteds awful DRM programming. Will only play non-DRM programming. All DRM programming causes an error message saying the program is not available for the duration of the flight (Error 1008). Also having similar issues trying to use laptop. United, please fix. Your DRM specifications/plugins are awful and dont work correctly with most devices/browsers.
I absolutely love this app. The interface is extremely easy to navigate. So much so that its simple to book a flight, upgrade your seat, view airport maps and use a boarding pass. Updates info automatically and sends alerts when needed. I would like the option to add my United Club credit card passes to the app so paper can be eliminated.
This app is terrible, it goes from poor usability to downright incorrect information. If you put a reservation on FareLock to pay later, it shows countdown timer on how many days hours minutes you have before the fair lock expires. So far so good. Problem happens when you pay for the fare, it does not update the app to show that that reservation is now booked and paid for. To report the problem, I talked to reservation agent who referred me to their dotcom support and talk to a level one tech Who was absolutely clueless and providing any help. He tells me to login logout, delete the app and re-download the app, still same problem. He says he will send a report in, I ask him when somebody will be in contact with me. Sorry we dont do that, only thing you do is provide feedback on United.com website. Next problem is usability, youre presented with your reservations and locator number but if you want any flight details such as departure time etc. it goes to the server and then comes back with this information. The problem with this is if you do not have an Internet connection because youre in flight you cant see your flight times. If you really want a good example of how this app was done right, look at Alaska Airlines mobile app. Simple, easy and information is presented without having to go through a bunch of steps. United Airlines needs to get a clue and rewrite this app.
The TouchID feature does not work. And there is no option to remember the user. Thus, to access you must recall your user id and your complex password. Where is Continental?
Latest version was great for check in and boarding passes. However kept getting an error message whenever I tried to play ANY of the movies during flight. I know the connection was good as I could play any of the trailers. Not sure why this latest version doesnt work on the iPhone.
Had to fly another airline recent and realized how much I take United and its app for granted. Now if only they could fix their inflight wifi.
Scanning passports simply doesnt work. It takes the picture, displays the data, then loops and either gives a 504 error or asks you to upload again. Unbelievable how poor this experience is.
Terrible app. Spent more than one hour trying to check in and it did not work. They did not give me any reasons. Just say NO to United!!!
They are just one of the best airlines. Yes, its true that they arent the cheapest service BUT when you need them to help you out because of missed flights, incorrect bookings, earlier departures - they come through. I dont have any issues with the app either... It allows me to use all the features I need. Keep it up United!!!

Its kind of astonishing that you cant change your flight through the app, especially since you cant seem to do it through the mobile version of the website either? Shouldnt that be a basic functionality?
THIS APP IS ALMOST AS BAD AS UNITEDS CUSTOMER SERVICE. NO JOKE! I DONT KNOW WHAT IS WORSE THIS APP THAT RANDOMLY CLOSES 90% OF THE TIME OR THE AWFUL SERVICE OF THE COMPANY ITSELF. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS USELESS APP AND DONT WASTE YOUR TIME FLYING UNITED!!!!
